In the ever-evolving world of the NFL, the once-prominent wide receiver Allen Robinson finds himself teetering on the brink of being cut by the New York Giants. A former second-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, Robinson made a name for himself as a top-tier contested catch receiver, amassing an impressive 1,400 yards and a league-leading 14 touchdowns during the 2015 season. Following successful stints with the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Chicago Bears, Robinson inked a lucrative three-year, $46.5 million deal with the Los Angeles Rams in the 2022 offseason.

However, Father Time caught up with the seasoned veteran, as he mustered only 33 receptions for 339 yards and three touchdowns in his lone season with the Rams. Subsequently, Robinson was traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers, where his performance failed to improve. After being released by the Steelers, the receiver found a new home with the New York Giants on a modest one-year, $1.3 million contract. Despite the nominal salary, Dan Duggan of The Athletic cast doubt on Robinson’s chances, remarking, “It’s hard to see Robinson earning a roster spot.”

Potential destinations for Robinson post-release from the Giants include the Carolina Panthers and the Los Angeles Chargers. With only first-round pick Malik Nabers showing promise on the Panthers’ roster, Robinson’s inability to secure a spot raises concerns. Nevertheless, the Panthers have bolstered their offensive arsenal with additions like first-round pick Xavier Legette and Diontae Johnson, aiming to provide support for former top pick Bryce Young.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Chargers are in dire need of pass-catching options, with Second-round pick Ladd McConkey showing potential but lacking strong supporting cast. Given the lackluster performance of players like Quentin Johnston, Joshua Palmer, and DJ Chark, the Chargers could benefit from pursuing Robinson to enhance their offensive firepower alongside standout quarterback Justin Herbert.

While Robinson may not possess his former game-changing prowess, he could offer experience and skill to teams lacking playmaking depth. The Chargers, in particular, should explore the possibility of adding Robinson to their roster to complement the talents of Herbert and Mike Williams. As the NFL landscape continues to shift, the fate of Allen Robinson remains uncertain, but his potential impact on a new team could prove pivotal in the upcoming season.
